Description
The oldest, largest and most intact private collection in the Czech Republic, the Lobkowicz Collections’ significance lies in its comprehesive nature, reflecting the cultural, social, political and economic life of Central Europe over six centuries. With the passage of the restitution laws in the early 1990s, it became possible for the Lobkowicz family to reassemble most of their extensive collections‚ including world-famous paintings by Brueghel, Canaletto, Bellotto, Cranach, Rubens, Veronese and many others, medieval and renaissance works of art, ceramics and exceptional arms and armour, as well as musical instruments and the finest private library in Central Europe which are now on view in Prague at the Lobkowicz Palace and at Prague Castle.
This book was published in 2007 in English, French, German, Italian, Spanish and Japanese but is no longer in print.
