The Clark Institute of Art re-opens JULY 2014

New Tadao Ando designed building receives critical acclaim

After years of closure and restoration, the Sterling and Francine Clark Institute of Art re-opened its doors over the July 4th weekend to much celebration and fanfair. Scala is honoured to publish the book The Clark: The Institute and its Collections to commemorate the newly designed museum and installations. Graced with iconic works by Renoir, Degas, Sargent, Homer, and many others, the book is the only publication to include works from the museum’s entire, world-class collection.  See some of the press about the opening and the new building designed by Tadao Ando:
Wall Street Journal commends the Clark's "discreet addition and sensitive delicate restorations of its existing buildings and grounds that make them seem familiar yet greatly enhanced",
The Boston Globe suggests a visit "to see one of the most celebrated collections of 19th-century French art in the world",
Architectural Digest states that "the Clark is now more enticing than ever", and,
New York Times encourages that "the directors and trustees of every art museum in the country should schedule a visit to the Clark sooner rather than later".
